Policies


All our students are required to review these Student Policies when registering for lessons.



Enrollment and Payments

Members may enroll at any time, and the first month will be prorated if starting in the middle of the month. Enrollment is available year round, and must be completed at least one week in advance of the first lesson.

Upon enrollment, members pre-pay for the first month. The payment will be based on a 4-week month.For the automatic monthly charge, a credit/debit card must be retained on file. However, members may choose to make their payments by other methods if arranged with our office and paid prior to the 5th of each month.


Scheduling

Upon enrollment, students choose a weekly lesson and will be automatically scheduled for those weeks, with the following exceptions:
1. The following national holidays - New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve.
2. The student’s instructor has a scheduled date off;
3. The member requests a given date off, with one weeks notice.

If the instructor or student needs a specific date off, students are encouraged to find an alternate date within the same week. Our instructors teach on multiple days of the week, and usually offer alternate dates for their time off requests. 


If a student requests a given date off with proper notice (1 week), and no alternate lesson date will work within that month, the member is not charged for that lesson.

With proper notice (1 weeks), a student may request to change their regular weekly lesson schdeule, subject to instructor availability.

In the unlikely event that an instructor must cancel a lesson, the lesson will be rescheduled at the earliest convenience. If a substitute teacher is available, you have the option of taking your lesson with the sub. If no alternate lesson date will work within that month, the student is not charged for that lesson.


Make-up Lessons

students may request to reschedule any lesson with one week notice, through our office. With less than 1 weeks notice, a student may request to cancel a lesson, for which the student is then eligible to attend one private make-up lesson. Students are also eligible for group class make-ups.

 

Cancellation

you are not bound by any long-term commitments and with proper notification, you can cancel your lessons at any time.Students do not need to commit to a long-term contract. To dropout, students must give one month’s notice to the International Music School office by the first of the month. The form can be completed in person, by email, or by phone. The dropout notice must be received by the first of the month.


Adjustments and Refunds

All lessons, lesson plans, and automatic monthly payments are nonrefundable*. International Music School will review and adjust each student account on a monthly basis. As the automatic monthly payment is based on a 4 week schedule, it is possible that a sudent will have a credit or debt. The credit/debt will be factored into the payment amount for that month’s automatic payment). 

 

 

Late Policy

Our instructors are timely, and International Music School strives to run on schedule 100% of the time. We expect students to be on time as well. But if you are running late, your instructor is required to wait for half of your scheduled lesson time, after which time your lesson will be considered canceled. If an instructor is late for a lesson, he or she will add the time at the end, or to a future lesson.
